Description

Course Overview

If a safeguarding concern arose today, would you know what to notice, who to speak to, and what to do next?

Safeguarding is not only the responsibility of a designated safeguarding lead. Every member of staff can play a role in recognising concerns, responding appropriately, and helping create an environment where children feel safe and supported.

KCSIE 2026 — All Staff is designed to help education staff understand their safeguarding responsibilities and apply them confidently in everyday situations. The training explores the key expectations of KCSIE 2026, different forms of abuse, vulnerable groups, contextual safeguarding, professional conduct, reporting procedures, escalation, whistleblowing, and the role of safeguarding leads.

Could you recognise a safeguarding concern?

Changes in behaviour, unexplained injuries, worrying disclosures, unusual interactions, online risks, or signs that a child may be vulnerable can all require attention.

The important question is:

What would you do if something did not feel right?

This course helps staff understand how to recognise potential concerns and respond through the appropriate safeguarding procedures.

What will you actually learn?

You will explore:

  • Key updates and statutory requirements in KCSIE 2026
  • Different types and signs of abuse
  • Vulnerable groups and contextual safeguarding
  • Staff responsibilities and professional conduct
  • How to respond to safeguarding concerns
  • Reporting, escalation, and whistleblowing
  • The roles of DSLs and local authorities
  • How to embed safeguarding into everyday practice

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for all staff working in education, including teachers, teaching assistants, support staff, administrative staff, pastoral teams, governors, volunteers, and other personnel who may come into contact with children through their work.

You do not need to be a safeguarding specialist. The focus is on helping every member of staff understand their role and know how to respond appropriately.

Why Take This Course?

Would you know what to do if a child told you something worrying?

Safeguarding concerns are not always obvious. A disclosure, change in behaviour, unexplained absence, online concern, or something you observe may need to be acted upon.

This course helps you understand what to notice, how to respond, and where concerns should be reported.

Why does every member of staff matter?

Because safeguarding depends on people noticing concerns and responding appropriately.

You will build practical awareness of:

  • Recognising potential signs of abuse
  • Understanding vulnerable children and wider safeguarding contexts
  • Following reporting and escalation procedures
  • Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • Knowing when concerns need to be raised
  • Supporting a strong safeguarding culture

The goal is simple: help staff feel more prepared to recognise concerns and take the right action.
